Sticky Rice

06 June 2009

The both of us have passed by this small eatery for quite a few times but it was often too crowded to get a seat. A brief craving for Thai food got me there early enough (around 6.40pm) to have the liberty to even choose my table, though it was full-house by half past seven.

Seafood Fried Rice: 4/5

I liked the fried rice a lot because it was full of squids, prawns and even some crabmeat on the top. The gentle peppery taste added flavour to the dish, but I would have preferred it a little less dry.

Phad Thai

The favourite Thai dish. Good serving of ingredients, a little more of the noodles would be good though. Mix it with the grated peanuts for that yummy extra crunch!

Tom Yum Soup: 4/5

Pretty high rating, but note that this would only go down well with those who like their tom yum soup a bit more milky and not as spicy as some others. Don't worry though, this has chilli padi (the hottest form of Thai pepper) in it which means it is still keeps those tastebuds moving. Perhaps the reason why I like this tom yum soup is because it keeps my (slightly dry) fried rice moist and flavourful. It's not exactly a large portion, quite small actually, but perfectly fine as a small side for two. You could also try the clear version of the soup, which is believed to be spicier.

Service
Prompt and good enough given the small space and the crowd.

Price
Around $7.90 for each of the dishes.

Place
Ang Mo Kio Hub, #01-32.
